Suga And Jimin “Expose” Bang Si Hyuk For How He Treated BTS As Trainees

They’ve been waiting for this opportunity.

BTS members Suga and Jimin appeared as guests on Yoo Jae Suk’s YouTube show Just An Excuse on April 11, KST. They were also joined by some other guests, namely comedians Jee Seok Jin and Jo Se Ho.

The show’s format allows guests to talk in an informal environment as if the viewers are watching a group of friends chat around a table. While Jimin admitted that he would need some time to ease in front of the camera, Suga surprisingly had no trouble treating the show as an opportunity to catch up with the host and the other guests.

As the conversation flowed from one amusing incident to the other, BTS’s hard work during their trainee days came up naturally. Suga jumped on the opportunity to spill some tea on Bang Si Hyuk, the founder of BIGHIT MUSIC.

The BTS rapper cockily said that “Band PD-nim” might look like a “good guy” these days, but when BTS were training to debut, he was extremely strict with their practice standards. As Yoo Jae Suk egged him on to dish some more about his past, Suga explained that back then, the company was struggling financially and was as desperate as the BTS members themselves to succeed. So, Bang PD pulled on the reigns pretty hard during their practice sessions.

Suga revealed that after practicing, they would go over the tape frame by frame and match every single movement down to their hands. If there was even a hint of a discrepancy, Bang PD would point it out right away. Jimin also added that they had to synchronize their eyeball movements as well!

When the others asked him how that would even be possible, Jimin explained that they had to match where they were looking at during every part of the choreography because Bang Si Hyuk had set such extreme standards for their performances!

The story has once again made fans appreciate the insane amount of hard work everyone in BTS put in to become who they are today. Bang PD’s methods might have been extreme, but there is no doubt that his strictness trained them to be the best at their craft as they are now.
