ZEROBASEONE‘s Kim Jiwoong recently fell into controversy when a netizen accused him of having a bad attitude during a video call. Allegedly, he said “f*ck” in Korean when he thought the call had ended.

As soon as it went viral, WAKEONE released a statement addressing various crimes committed against the members, such as trespassing in the dorms and obtaining the members’ phone numbers illegally.

The company did not directly name Kim Jiwoong’s controversy, nor did they deny the claims made towards them. At this stage, before investigations are complete, it would be disadvantageous for the company to deny or admit to anything. WAKEONE alluded to the controversy by pledging their utmost effort to uncover the truth.
As such, fans have been questioning the timing of the statement. The company has kept silent about many of the attacks faced by the other members, only to make a statement past office hours, as soon as Kim Jiwoong’s controversy arose.
