For season 2, there are many rumored lineups that include Cherry Bullet, CLC, Dreamcatcher, Fromis_9, LOONA, MOMOLAND, Weki Meki, and Cosmic Girls (commonly referred to as WJSN).

And while fans will have to wait longer for confirmation about who will actually be competing, Mnet has officially announced the MC for the second season.

None other than Girls’ Generation‘s Taeyeon.

Taeyeon is an incredibly experienced performer, with heavenly vocals and phenomenal stage presence.

She recently had a comeback with “Can’t Control Myself,” which she released on January 17th, 2022.

Along with her recent debut with GOT The Beat, SM Entertainment‘s newest girl group project.

But her fans are excited to be getting even more content from the singer, feeling lucky to have her be so active in both music and shows.

Fans have taken to Twitter to express their excitement at the news of Taeyeon hosting Queendom Season 2.

Some are simply to see Taeyeon as an MC again.

While others are joking that Mnet was wise in choosing Taeyeon since now, they have no choice but to watch the show.

Others felt sentimental, enthusing about how Girls’ Generation is now truly proving themselves as not only legends in the industry but helpful, supportive mentors to their hoobaes (industry juniors).

Tiffany mentored for Girls Planet 999, Yuri mentored on My Teenage Girl, and now Taeyeon on Queendom.

And, of course, you can’t leave out Sunny mentoring on SBS’s Super Model Survival 2018.

Others remembered how Taeyeon mentioned in an interview with the Star Magazine in November of 2021 that she wanted to try being an MC again.

And inevitably, there were jokes about how groups would sign up simply for a chance to meet the idol that so many newer idols look up to.

And specifically, some fans hoped that MAMAMOO would somehow be included in the show’s lineup for a second time so Moonbyul could meet Taeyeon again and possibly have a collaboration fans of both groups are dreaming of.

But fortunately, we don’t have long to wait to see MC Taeyeon again as filming is set to start roughly next month.
