Paul Blanco Reveals He Initially “Ignored” BTS RM’s Instagram DM, But The Reason Why Is Too Real
For BTS RM‘s debut solo album, he was joined by some of his musical idols. The genre-bending 10-track album, Indigo, featured nine incredible artists and brought to life RM’s twenties.
RM collaborated with some of music’s greats, such as the “Queen of Neo Soul,” the legendary American singer-songwriter Erykah Badu, pioneering Korean hip-hop artist, Epik High’s Tablo, revered industry veteran Park Ji Yoon, veteran rock vocalist Youjeen, American rapper, singer-songwriter Anderson .Paak, and more.
Another talented artist featured on the album is rising star Paul Blanco, a Korean Canadian rapper and R&B artist known for his smooth vocals.
RM previously revealed that he reached out to Paul Blanco around 4 AM to see if he would be interested in collaborating. Blanco had lines sent back to RM around 12 PM the following day, amazing RM with his work ethic.
Paul Blanco recently appeared on the PSICK SHOW, hosted by the comedic trio Lee Yong Joo, Jung Jae Hyung, and Kim Min Soo.
During his episode, he opened up about being asked by RM to collaborate on Indigo. RM previously shared the DM screenshots with fans, but Paul Blanco gave fans the inside scoop on how he reacted to being DM’d by one of the world’s top stars.
Blanco revealed that when he saw he had a notification from BTS’s leader RM, he intentionally didn’t open it for 40 minutes to an hour to, relatably, collect himself.
He shared that when he finally opened the message and saw it was a request to work together, he needed another 10 minutes to take it in.

The PSICK SHOW team hilariously shared that they could relate. When they first received phone calls from BTS’s manager, they ignored the call multiple times because it was from an unknown number.
Luckily, Paul Blanco quickly composed himself and delivered the talented lines fans love in RM’s track “Closer” on Indigo with Blanco and British singer-songwriter and actress Mahalia.
