Sunmi Reveals That The Wonder Girls Almost Debuted With Different Stage Names
Singer Sunmi appeared as a guest on KBS 2TV’s Come Back Home and revealed that she almost debuted with a stage name other than her real name.
Sunmi revealed, “I auditioned for SM in sixth grade, but a SM employee recommended that I audition for JYP and so I did. I was chosen right away, but truthfully, I wanted to go to SM more”.
She also revealed that the group name Wonder Girls was created after doing a reality show with the same title.
Park Jin Young also gave the members different stage names too.
Park Jin Young even created stage names for us. I was ‘Berry’, Sohee was ‘IC’, and Yeeun was ‘Silver’. Although we didn’t like them, we couldn’t say anything.
Luckily, the label decided not to go with stage names, so they debuted using their real names!
