K-Pop Idol Gets Candid About Her Past Public Relationship And Breakup

A K-Pop idol opened up about her honest feelings, mentioning a past public relationship and breakup.

On the 19th, a video titled “Vocalist Park Jimin, who won K-pop Star, [Bearded Man is Daydrinking] EP.151” was released on YouTube.

In the video, JAMIE (also known as Park Jimin) cautiously responded to the question, “Which memories on the internet would you like to disappear?” by saying, “I had a public relationship.”

She then explained what led her to decide on a public relationship, saying, “I was in my twenties and wanted to have a public relationship. I always hid it and only dated at home. But then I started working and became freer, and because my twenties were fiery, I made my relationship public.” However, she candidly admitted, “But nothing was left, it just burned out. Looking back now, I regret it.”

She also discussed the reason for the breakup. “I got a lot of questions about whether it was true,” she said. “That’s the embarrassing part. I could have just said we broke up coolly, but I explained in too much detail, saying, ‘We broke up because of this, and I wish you were X.’ It was uncool.”

She added, “If I had to go back, I wouldn’t have done a public relationship,” expressing regret over her past choice.

JAMIE also said, “I have no lingering feelings. As soon as I saw (the cheating), I said, ‘Cut,’” sharing her decisive reaction at the time.

JAMIE and Goo Min Chul confirmed their public relationship in November 2022, but their breakup became known after JAMIE posted a social media post in 2023 hinting at her partner’s infidelity. At that time, Jamie drew attention with an English post saying, “When you find out your boyfriend is a cheater,” followed by, “Have fun with 4–5? other girls”
