4 Of The Strangest Things K-Pop Idols Have Apologized For

Idols shouldn’t have to apologize for these.

K-Pop idols are always getting criticized by netizens for strange reasons, and this has led to some moments where K-Pop idols apologized for some rather strange things. Here are 4 of the strangest things K-Pop idols have apologized for.

1. Dating

K-Pop idols dating has always been a strange topic, as some “fans” believe that idols shouldn’t date since it takes away the “fantasy” from fans. Due to this, idols a lot of times will apologize when it gets revealed that they’re dating. Recently, it was announced that Super Junior‘s Ryeowook and former Tahiti member Ari were in a relationship.

After this was revealed, they both personally apologized for the sudden news.

First of all, I feel very sorry to announce that there is a friend I am seeing in this way. Thinking about it, I think ELF (Super Junior’s fandom) have provided me so much support and consideration for me to see that friend. I should have been more considerate to ELF, and I’m reflecting on that. I think my lack of consideration has caused more confusion.

The friend that was being talked about, I am dating her.

2. False rumors

K-Pop idols get involved in false rumors all the time, and idols a lot of times will apologize to their fans when this happens. One time, BTS‘s Jungkook got involved in a false dating rumor.

The dating rumor began when a CCTV photo was leaked online, and it showed Jungkook hugging his friend, tattoo artist Lee Mijoo. This photo caused some to speculate if the two were dating.

BTS’s agency, Big Hit Entertainment, and Lee Mijoo ended up shutting down these rumors. Despite the rumors being false, Jungkook still apologized to fans for what happened.

Before I say anything else, first of all, I think I should mention that I’m very sorry to the fans. I still feel guilty about it.

3. Hanging out with former members of their group

Some “fans” aren’t in favor of the members of a K-Pop group hanging out with former members. One time, the members of MONSTA X were seen having dinner with former member Wonho.

While a lot of fans were happy about this interaction, some “fans” were upset and criticized the members for interacting with Wonho. In response, member Hyungwon issued an apology on behalf of the group. While Hyungwon didn’t directly mention the interaction with Wonho, it was heavily hinted at in his apology.

I think there are many MONBEBE (MONSTA X’s fandom) who aren’t able to sleep at this hour because of me.

That’s why I’m uploading this post.

The first thing I want to say to MONBEBE is that I’m so sorry.

The reason, in the end, is that we were being complacent.

These days, things are not good in many ways even though we are always trying to show the best of us, so we are very sorry and want to apologize for what we aren’t able to do.

In the future, we will be more careful and work harder so MONBEBE don’t have a hard time.

4. Things out of their control

K-Pop companies have a lot of control over their idols, and they are usually the ones that make big decisions. However, a lot of times, idols will apologize for things that were decided by their companies.

X1 was a group that disbanded due to the companies of the respective members deciding that it would be best for the group to disband. At the time, it was revealed that the votes for Produce X 101 were rigged, which is the show that created X1.

The X1 members had no say in the disbandment, as it was a decision made solely by the companies. However, the X1 members still apologized to fans for the disbandment news. Lee Hangyul and Nam Dohyon are members who ended up apologizing to fans.
