5 Celebrities Accused Of Sexual Assault And Harassment During Taiwan’s #MeToo Movement

Several were accused of assaulting minors.

Recently, the #MeToo movement has swept Taiwan, originating in accusations against government officials. Not long after, allegations of sexual assault and harassment by celebrities were revealed, sending shockwaves through the entertainment industry.

Here are five celebrities that were called out during the movement.

1. Aaron Yan

In a lengthy Instagram post, a content creator named Yao Le claimed that a then 31-year-old Aaron Yan began a relationship with him when he was 16. Yao Le alleges that Yan raped him on multiple occasions and that he was filmed during sex without his permission.

Yan has since denied any claims of nonconsensual acts online and when he showed up unannounced at Yao Le’s press conference.

 

2. Mickey Huang

An influencer named Zofia alleges that Mickey Huang first kissed her unwillingly when she was 17. Years later, when she was 20, she claims that Huang forced her to take off her top to take photos in a hotel room.

Though she did not name him, Huang admitted to the allegations in a video where he also apologized for his actions. Shortly after, Huang was rushed to the hospital after allegedly attempting suicide. In response to the allegations, Huang revealed the wrongdoings of other celebrities during a rant.

3. Nono Chen

A former model named Amber Chang alleged that a celebrity forcibly kissed her, rubbed her breasts, and attempted to remove her underwear after offering her a ride home. Comedian Nono Chen was linked to the allegation, which he denied.

After the denial, more than twenty women came forward, including a streamer named Anissa, who accused Chen of similar behavior, addressing it during a press conference. Nono has since announced he would take a break from show business “to reflect.”

4. Chris Wang

Following accusations made by a staff member of touching her breasts, actor Chris Wang shared an apology for his actions, seeming to admit the allegations were true. Three other women have also accused the actor of sexual harassment.

5. Jeffery Hsu

Entertainer Jeffery Hsu was accused by many of sexual harassment, including touching the breasts of one of his acting class students and asking another to make sexual sounds. He has since announced his retirement from the industry and apologized for his actions.
