Korean singer-songwriter BIBI is known to be too provocative and bad*ss for the K-Pop scene.

From lap dances to kisses, her fan service is unmatched. Not to mention that steamy makeout scene with Ji Chang Wook in K-Drama The Worst of Evil.

Despite all this, her new song raised some eyebrows.

BIBI recently made her comeback with her latest album, Bam Yang Gang, including the track “Sugar Rush.” In this song, BIBI says that while she’s sweet and has “cake” that one might want, she’s off limits, so don’t touch!

[Verse 1]
Yeah, I got cake, baby, yeah, I got dough
Bet you never had a b*tch who had both
Mmm, and if you try to get close, I’ll
Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang
Sweet like lemonade, smooth like butter
Won’t give it up for no sucker
Don’t take shots, baby, duck and take cover
Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang

[Pre-Chorus]
Homemade
They don’t make ’em like this no more
One taste
And I make ’em go, make ’em go fall in love

[Chorus]
I’m sweet, like candy
You could look don’t touch
Don’t try to get handsy
You get sugar rush
I’m sweet, like candy (Candy)
You could look don’t touch (Look don’t touch)
Don’t try to get handsy (Handsy)
You get sugar rush

[Post-Chorus]
Rush, rush, rush, rush
Don’t try to get handsy
You get sugar rush

— BIBI, “Sugar Rush”

One verse stood out from the rest, though. Verse 2 has some of the most innuendos in the entire song, from “You gon’ eat it up till yo teeth hurt” to “popsicles in my freezer.”

No artificial sweetener
You gon’ eat it up till yo teeth hurt
I don’t need a man for no dessert
I got popsicles in my freezer
I got thirty-one flavors
No free samples, boy, you gotta pay first
I make bread, but I ain’t no baker
Good girl on her worst behavior

— BIBI, “Sugar Rush” Verse 2

This verse went viral with 968.9K views on X at the time of writing. Netizens applauded not only the way BIBI said the lyrics but also the clever wordplay. In this verse, she states that she doesn’t need a man for dessert because she has popsicles.

Licking popsicles is often sexualized, and some even use “popsicles” as slang for a penis. So, BIBI is saying that she can pleasure herself with no help from a man. Hence, “Sugar Rush” was banned by KBS for “lyrics containing profanity and vulgar expressions.”

Considering BIBI is the same BIBI that threw condoms in a crowd, should we have been all that surprised by such risque lyrics?
