BLACKPINK‘s Jisoo has given fans an update on the release of her highly-anticipated solo debut.
Fans initially anticipated that Jisoo would make her solo debut in 2022 because of what the idol said to a fan during a fan call.

Unfortunately, as YG Entertainment announced that BLACKPINK would be having their comeback, BORN PINK, and going on a world tour, fans realized that Jisoo making her solo debut in 2022 seemed unlikely. Still, fans felt that YG Entertainment’s treatment of Jisoo was unfair, especially since it meant the idol wouldn’t have her own solo song to perform during the tour.
Jisoo herself has opened up about the difficulties in preparing for a solo debut since the idol admitted that “There’s a chaos of conflicting questions” around what style of music she should pursue.
Although some netizens believed that Jisoo’s comments meant she wasn’t prepared to go solo, Jisoo has continually shown her excitement for her solo debut, even at a recent meet and greet during the group’s world tour.
During BLACKPINK’s world tour, Jisoo’s solo stage cover of Camila Cabello‘s “Liar” not only got praise from the original artist and a special collaboration performance, but Jisoo’s incredible talent definitively proved how captivating she will be during her solo debut.
