BTS’s V Shares His Honest Feelings About Cooking During “Jinny’s Kitchen” Press Conference, Making The MC Do A Double-Take

He said “sike” in the middle of his response.

On February 22, 10 am KST, tvN‘s new food-and-travel show Jinny’s Kitchen (also known as Seo Jin’s) had an online press conference with all five cast members, Lee Seo Jin, Jung Yu Mi, Park Seo Joon, Choi Woo Shik, and BTS‘s V, and host Na Young Suk, in attendance.

The show’s format assigns different roles to the cast members in the kitchen. The program’s first look revealed V as an intern, along with Choi Woo Shik. His responsibilities included preparing ingredients, washing dishes, and cleaning up. But during the press conference, V revealed that he also tried cooking on the show!

The interviewer asked V what viewers could expect from him at Seojin’s, given that he is the designated dish washer among BTS members who steer clear of cooking. V answered that he is indeed the “worst” at cooking among the members, and he was only expecting to work as a server on the show. But he did end up having to cook.

While he was talking about the learning experience, his tone led everyone in the room to believe that he had had a change of heart towards cooking after all. But his response took an unexpected turn.

I learned, and I tried cooking a bit. And… I wanted to think, ‘Cooking can actually be much fun!’…But that realization never came.

His answer made the cast crack up immediately as the host asked him again, “No?…That’s a shocking conclusion.” V re-emphasized that it was “really, very hard” and agreed that it’s not easy for a person to change like that.

Turns out it wasn’t just the cast that cracked up at V’s dramatic answer. ARMYs also couldn’t contain their amusement at his continued disdain for cooking.

One thing about V, he is a consistent man, if nothing else.
