Employees Complain After “I-LAND 2” Contestant’s CEO Parent Asks Them To Vote For Their Daughter

The employees had raised complaints.

A community post is blowing up online. According to Korean media, a disgruntled employee had uploaded a complaint regarding their boss. It was said that they worked at a small-to-midsized company and had allegedly been receiving incessant emails from the higher-ups, asking them to vote for a contestant in I-LAND 2.

I-LAND 2 is a debut survival program where trainees from WAKEONE Entertainment compete for a spot in a new girl group. According to the employee, the boss’ daughter was currently a participant on the show. They had issued official notices asking employees to vote for their daughter. Not only that, they had also allegedly played the theme song for the show loudly in the office, and advertised their daughter in the pantry. They had termed it as “forced voting,” rather than a simple request.

  • They should’ve said that employees would get 200% bonuses if she debuts. If they put that in, I’d vote for her.
  • If they treated the employees well on the regular, I would vote for her while smiling.
  • Although, if they had asked employees to vote while giving out snacks, wouldn’t that invite more talk? LOL.
  • Wow, I’d hate that.
  • If they’re going to ask employees to do personal matters like this, the CEO should give out handwritten letters to show their sincerity. This is an abuse of power to ask their employees to do this because it’s not part of their job. Both the people who voted, and the way they give snacks out before the notification are both problematic.
  • I don’t think much of it though.
  • For those who said this is fine, think of it this way. If your CEO’s daughter was taking her SATS the day after, and the company issued an emergency notification to ask you to cheer her on using the method stated isn’t he clause, would you be fine with it? We’re employees, not slaves.
  • Stop promoting the show like this.
  • Well, can’t they just not do it?

The identity of the contestant has not been revealed to the public.
