SHINee’s Key Finally Gets To Bring His “Retro Space” Concept To Life, And He’s Slaying It
SHINee‘s Key recently released his BAD LOVE mini album, and it’s a masterpiece!
The album’s concept is retro space, and Key definitely succeeded in bringing the unique concept to life. In the behind-the-scenes video from his photoshoot for the album’s jacket, Key revealed that he’s been wanting to try this concept for a very long time. “At every SHINee meeting, do you know how much I wanted to try to suggest this theme?” he asked the staff at the photoshoot.
Throughout the jacket photoshoot, Key’s amazing visuals and acting skills were on display as he effortlessly conveyed retro space vibes. He looked like he could’ve starred in a space movie from the 1950s!
Even the staff was amazed by how quickly Key was able to immerse himself in the retro space concept. They applauded him when he stepped off the first set, and he asked “Is this a prank? What’s everyone doing?”
Key’s opportunity to live out his retro space dreams was especially meaningful because he fought so hard for the chance to try this concept. He revealed in an interview with VOGUE KOREA that he even cried after filming the “BAD LOVE” music video because all the memories of fighting for creative control of his mini album’s concept rushed back to him.
Fortunately, Key was all smiles during the jacket photoshoot, and he even entertained the staff and the dancers who modeled for the jacket alongside him with witty jokes.
Key also served major retro space vibes in the music video for “BAD LOVE” and during his recent solo concert.
Shawols couldn’t be more thrilled to see Key slay his retro space concept, especially after they learned how hard he had to fight to bring his ideas to life.
