Runs In The Family: LE SSERAFIM’s Kazuha Dishes On Why She And Her Parents Are Exactly Alike

They’re so cute 🥺

LE SSERAFIM‘s Kazuha recently sat down for a one-on-one interview with Weverse Magazine where she talked about why her parts in “UNFORGIVEN” are harder than they look, how BLACKPINK has inspired her recently, and why she had doubts when she first appeared on variety shows.

Aside from that, she also discussed her sense of humor, particularly when the interviewer asked, “Do you really think being from Osaka impacted your sense of humor, like when you said ‘the spirit of laughter is in me’ when you talked about dropping that egg bread?

The former professional ballerina explained that people from her hometown of Osaka, Japan, are proud of being funny and appreciate it when someone tells them so. Even if she personally doesn’t believe she’s funny, she feels happy whenever she can make others laugh.

People from Osaka take pride in being funny. People from the city really like it when they’re told they’re funny so apparently that culture is a part of me too. (laughs) I don’t think I’m really a very funny person so it makes me feel that much happier when I make people laugh. (laughs) So I want to be funnier. (laughs) I thought everybody falls when somebody goes ‘bang!’ I was so surprised that Koreans found it so funny. I was like, Is it really that funny? (laughs)

The interviewer then noted that she was much more reserved in LE SSERAFIM’s early videos, prompting her to share that she’s quiet to strangers but actually very playful to people she’s familiar with.

It turns out she got that trait from her parents! She said that her mom and dad may never joke around in public, but they’re incredibly funny in private. And as a family, they enjoy making jokes that involve props like bananas, which they cutely pretend is a telephone.

Ultimately, they may all be on the introverted side and avoid being chaotic when they’re outside their home, but they’re loud and goofy when they’re together.

I guess I’ve been that way ever since I was little. I come across as quiet and shy but once I warm up to you I’m much more open and playful. (laughs) I have a feeling my parents would never crack jokes in public but they’re actually super funny and like funny things. So when it’s just family, we’ll do prop jokes, like, if there’s a banana around, they’ll go (imitates using a phone) like that. (laughs) When we see something with a funny shape we make jokes together like that. Our family likes being a little goofy. (laughs)

It sounds like Kazuha is close to her parents and has a very fun family dynamic!
