5 Times K-Pop Idols Made Heartbreaking Confessions During Live Broadcasts

Some of these will have you in tears.

When K-Pop idols do live broadcasts, it’s usually a joyful time where they interact with their fans. However, there have also been moments where idols made heartbreaking confessions during live broadcasts. Here are 5 of these moments.

1. BTS’s Jungkook speaking on getting calls from sasaeng fans

Something that sasaeng fans often do is finding out the phone numbers of K-Pop idols and calling them when they do live broadcasts. BTS’s Jungkook is an idol who has had to deal with this quite a bit. During one live broadcast, he got a call from a sasaeng fan, and he revealed that this happens to him often.

This is a call from a fan. It’s saying ‘You’re doing a V-Live and I just called to check’. What I do is, I immediately blocked the call. I actually get a lot of calls from saesang fans.

2. TWICE speaking on “fans” who waited for them at their old dorm

At TWICE’s old dorm, a lot of “fans” tended to wait for them outside, which made the members uncomfortable.

Due to this, when TWICE moved to their new dorm, they rarely spoke about their dorm lives, as they were fearful “fans” would invade their privacy again.

These “fans” are also the reason why TWICE hesitate about doing live broadcasts at their dorm.

3. BTS’s V speaking on getting bullied

When BTS’s V was younger, he got invited to one of his friend’s birthday party. However, this friend purposefully gave V the wrong address.

I didn’t know where to go, so I waited outside for three hours with the gift certificate while trying to figure out where I should go. I went there and gave him the present and I said, ‘It’s time for me to go home now, so I’m going to leave.’ and left. I remember crying so hard as I walked home.”

V then revealed that this friend gave him the wrong address since he was jealous of him. Despite what happened to him, V decided to forgive this person after he apologized to him.

It was actually revealed later that he was extremely jealous of me. After some time had passed, he confessed that he was jealous, because I got along so well with our friends. Honestly, it was something that happened in elementary school, and we were still young. He sincerely apologized to me around two years later. We had been awkward for a while because of that incident, but because he apologized sincerely to me, I thanked him.

4. TWICE’s Momo speaking on her past diet

When TWICE’s Momo was a trainee, she was told that she had to lose 7kg (about 15lbs) to appear on a showcase.

Momo decided to go on a severe diet to accomplish this goal. Momo ended up exercising daily and eating almost nothing. While Momo did eat some ice cubes, she often spat them out since she believed that it would make her gain weight.

Due to how tired and hungry she was, Momo feared that she was going to die in her sleep, and this caused her to cry.

Momo did accomplish her goal and was able to appear on the showcase. Also, she never attempted a diet like this again, as she realized how dangerous it was.

5. Apink’s Chorong speaking on the 2019 KBS Gayo Daechukje incident

During the 2019 KBS Gayo Daechukje, Apink ran into a heartbreaking situation. When the group finished performing their song “Eung Eung”, they started preparing for another dance performance. However, the performance got cut short by KBS.

Fans were enraged by this and demanded an apology from KBS. Not long after, the Apink members spoke about this incident and shared that it was an accident and that KBS apologized to them. However, during a live broadcast, leader Chorong couldn’t contain her sadness talking about this incident.

The reason why we were disappointed wasn’t just because of our performance today, but to be honest, the only reason why we go to the end of the year ceremonies is 100% solely for the fans.

We wanted to show the fans even just one more memorable stage, so we went but we’re given such a small amount of time. In that short time period, we have to perform but can’t complete a full song. Our agency, dancers, and the members tried very hard to show all kinds of things in that short time period. We tried, but we weren’t lucky. They told us to cut 10~15 seconds, and we couldn’t do everything that we wanted, so we were very disappointed. They say it’s because there are so many groups that need to perform.

But we get greedy and want to show you more but we aren’t allowed, so… Anyways, we honestly didn’t have to perform, but we only decided to perform solely for the fans.

I don’t have any regrets since it was an accident. I’m just frustrated.
