Jin officially enlisted for his mandatory military service on December 13, 2022, joining the 5th Infantry Division in Yeoncheon County for his training. He won’t make any promotional appearances until he finishes his enlistment in 2024.

We all miss him. Still, the Korean military shared a few official updates regarding Jin, showcasing him in his uniform in his first few months of serving. Meanwhile, Jin has promised to update ARMYs monthly, but so far, it has been via pre-recorded materials.

The one exception was when Jin was permitted by the army to post a few pictures in uniform. He updated ARMYs via Weverse on January 18.

I’m having a good time. I am posting this picture after receiving permission from the military. ARMYs always be happy and be well.

Since then, we have not seen or heard much from Jin. His fellow BTS members, such as Jimin and Jungkook, have both given ARMYs brief updates about Jin during their respective live broadcasts.

Now, Jin has finally returned and for a very special occasion!

Last week, J-Hope posted a photo advertising his MMTG interview with Jaejae. Today, Jin used the post on Instagram to publicly wish his bro a happy birthday.

I was on MMTG. Please go watch!
And the documentary, watch that too, please.

Shortly after, V replied to Jin’s comment. He wished J-Hope a happy birthday, too, adding a cute emoji!

J-Hope celebrated his 29th birthday on February 18.

He held a live broadcast via Weverse, and Jimin even made an appearance. During their time together, they actually talked about Jin, and clearly, J-Hope missed him a lot. So, it’s like they summoned their hyung!

Jin and J-Hope used Instagram to interact a lot prior to enlistment. Additionally, J-Hope even had a dinner to celebrate and honor Jin’s birthday, Christmas, and enlistment before Jin enlisted. Read more below.
