Fans are expressing concern for K-Pop boy group OMEGA X after they paid their way to Korea but were met by Spire Entertainment‘s chairman upon arrival.

OMEGA X arriving in Korea

Over the course of the past few months, FOR X (OMEGA X’s fandom) have become increasingly concerned about the members. In August, OMEGA X were seemingly banned from using their social media. After that, the group carried out their tour of North America, 2022 OMEGA X WORLD TOUR [CONNECT: Don’t give up], which was also fraught with issues.

After the tour wrapped with OMEGA X’s final show in Los Angeles, FOR X reported witnessing the members being verbally and physically abused by Spire Entertainment‘s CEO, Kang Seong Hee. Spire Entertainment has addressed the issue in a statement, explaining that “voices were raised” during a discussion of the tour between the management and the members.

Following the month-long tour, which began in Guadalajara, Mexico, on September 16 and ended in LA, USA, on October 22, we had a celebratory team-wide dinner. The conversation, which has circulated online via social media, was recorded at that dinner.

At the time, having completed all legs of the tour, the OMEGA X members and Spire Entertainment team were discussing the hard work that went into the concerts, as well as the future that is to come. During this discussion, we also talked about certain moments that caused disappointments in one another. And in doing so, the conversation got heated, and voices were raised.

Guys, I was waiting outside for the Uber Eats that I orderedand I saw the company CEO hitting the members. I really didn’t know what to do since my hands were shaking so much. They were being hit right in front of me but I couldn’t do anything.

Additionally, SBS reported an exclusive statement from CEO Kang Seong Hee herself in which she addressed the abuse and defended her actions.

It’s a one-sided allegation started by an anti-fan who is hostile toward the management.

I was exhausted because I’ve been up for several nights in a row. I even had a bloody nose because I was so tired. But the members didn’t think to make me feel better. They didn’t care about me. So I felt upset and acted out of disappointment.

Usually, I’m extremely polite toward the members. I even use honorifics when I talk to them.

Since then, Spire Entertainment warranted more backlash after a video was released by SBS that showed Kang Seong Hee verbally abusing and then physically assaulting leader Jaehan, who appeared to be having a panic attack. The attacks toward the members continued even at their hotel, and additional witnesses reported more instances of mistreatment.

It appeared that OMEGA X were left stranded in Los Angeles as many staff left for Korea while the members’ plane tickets were canceled. It was reported that they were forced to pay for their own flights back to Korea (some with their parents’ help), which are priced on an average ₩975,000 KRW (about $675 USD).

We realized that the seats we originally booked could lead to the members sitting mixed with fans. So we talked about potentially canceling the tickets from three days ago. It is not true that we left the members behind on purpose.

The cheapest flight from Los Angeles to Seoul for the next day is ₩975,000 KRW (about $675 USD). The cheapest nonstop flight is almost 50% more expensive at ₩1.33 million KRW (about $920 USD).

Finally, OMEGA X safely arrived in Korea on October 25. They were met by FOR X, many who couldn’t hold tears upon seeing them, knowing what they had been through to get there.

Yet, FOR X were not the only ones who greeted OMEGA X at the airport upon arrival. Spire Entertainment’s chairman Hwang Seong Woo (also known as Peter) also seemed to be there to greet them.

Hwang Seong Woo is known to be the husband of CEO Kang Seong Hee. Hence, she has not received any repercussions for her actions at this point.

Previously, Chairman Hwang contacted CEO Kang after the abuse towards OMEGA X made the news. It appeared that he took her word for it regarding whether mistreatment occurred or not.

When the news first surfaced, some mistakingly thought that the Spire Entertainment CEO was a man, assumed to be Hwang. So, some FOR X tried to correct this issue, and Hwang even retweeted a post from his Twitter account. He previously created Twitter account @swhwang21 to share the OMEGA X members’ and FOR X’s posts. He also follows many fan accounts.

Considering that he has sat idly by as the members faced abuse at the hands of his wife and he did nothing to assist their return, FOR X feel that he had the nerve to not only greet them at the airport but hug them as if nothing had happened.

While relieved that OMEGA X arrived in Korea safely, FOR X remain concerned for the members. So, they continue to spread awareness of the issues by trending #ProtectOMEGAX, #HearOmegaXVoice, and other hashtags.

Some FOR X are now saying that the man originally said to be Chairman Hwang is a father of an OMEGA X member.

Yet, it is not confirmed. Fans are not in agreement over whether or not family was present at the airport for OMEGA X’s arrival.
