OMEGA X’s Sebin Might Have Found The Perfect Solution To Bypass Spire Entertainment’s Social Media Ban

Fans were excited to see a post of a member.

A post of OMEGA X‘s Sebin was shared despite Spire Entertainment‘s apparent social media ban on the members.

In August, OMEGA X were seemingly banned from using their social media. After that, the group carried out their tour of North America, 2022 OMEGA X WORLD TOUR [CONNECT: Don’t give up], which was also fraught with issues. Still, the members kept FOR X (fandom) updated with daily posts on the group’s shared Twitter account.

After the tour wrapped with OMEGA X’s final show in Los Angeles, FOR X reported witnessing the members being verbally and physically abused by Spire Entertainment‘s CEO, Kang Seong Hee. Spire Entertainment has addressed the issue in a statement.

Following the month-long tour, which began in Guadalajara, Mexico, on September 16 and ended in LA, USA, on October 22, we had a celebratory team-wide dinner. The conversation, which has circulated online via social media, was recorded at that dinner.

At the time, having completed all legs of the tour, the OMEGA X members and Spire Entertainment team were discussing the hard work that went into the concerts, as well as the future that is to come. During this discussion, we also talked about certain moments that caused disappointments in one another. And in doing so, the conversation got heated, and voices were raised.

Guys, I was waiting outside for the Uber Eats that I ordered and I saw the company CEO hitting the members. I really didn’t know what to do since my hands were shaking so much. They were being hit right in front of me but I couldn’t do anything.

SBS News also reported an exclusive statement from CEO Kang Seong Hee herself in which she addressed the abuse but defended her actions.

It’s a one-sided allegation started by an anti-fan who is hostile toward the management.

I was exhausted because I’ve been up for several nights in a row. I even had a bloody nose because I was so tired. But the members didn’t think to make me feel better. They didn’t care about me. So I felt upset and acted out of disappointment.

Usually, I’m extremely polite toward the members. I even use honorifics when I talk to them.

— Spire Entertainment CEO Kang Seong Hee

Since then, Spire Entertainment received more backlash after SBS released a video showing Kang Seong Hee both verbally and physically abusing OMEGA X leader Jaehan, who appeared to be having a panic attack. Such attacks toward the members continued at their hotel, and additional witnesses reported more instances of mistreatment.

OMEGA X appeared stranded in Los Angeles as many staff left for Korea while the members’ plane tickets were canceled. It was reported that they were forced to pay for their own flights back to Korea (some with their parents’ help), which are priced on an average ₩975,000 KRW (about $675 USD), and they have since safely arrived in Korea on October 25.

We realized that the seats we originally booked could lead to the members sitting mixed with fans. So we talked about potentially canceling the tickets from three days ago. It is not true that we left the members behind on purpose.

Despite OMEGA X consistently posting daily on social media, the members have been unable to do so as they were seemingly put on a social media ban again. No member has posted since Xen shared selfies immediately following the final concert on the group members’ account, thanking their fans for attending the concert. The post was made on October 22, 11:45 pm PST.

Now, we have our first update from a member since.

A photo of OMEGA X member Sebin was shared via the official Twitter account for SNUPER, which he is still a member of. All OMEGA X members were previously in other K-Pop groups. SNUPER is technically not disbanded but instead currently inactive as four of SNUPER’s six members are completing their military service.

Fans were so pleasantly surprised to see the post of Sebin. Many believed he posted it, hoping to communicate that he was okay, while some thought it was SNUPER showing their support.

FOR X applauded Sebin’s bravery, assuming he figured out a way to bypass OMEGA X’s social media ban by posting through his other group’s account.

SNUPER fans agreed that it’s possible it was Sebin himself. If not, it was at least another member of SNUPER.

They pointed out that the selfie is five years old. It appears to be from the group’s “Back:Hug” era.

It should be noted that it’s unusual that the post was shared on this particular account. @snuperofficial is the management-owned social media account, and normally the occasional member updates would be via @snuper6, which the members share. Even then, that account has not been updated since 2020.

Some suspect that if Sebin isn’t the one who posted the selfie, SNUPER’s leader Taewoong is likely the one. He has been most active recently on social media.

Previously, hshared his support for the maknae and his group via his Instagram Stories. He posted the hashtag #PROTECTOMEGAX, which is currently trending on social media as netizens work to bring attention to the abuse of OMEGA X.

Still, if it’s truly the case that Sebin is the one behind the post, it wouldn’t be the first time an OMEGA X member has tried to communicate with fans during a social media ban. Read more below.
